Bird Dogs and Quail Hunting
Always start your training session with Backing and then let your dog have a bird of his/her own. Never just do a backing session than stop for the day. Training your dog sequentially is the best way to go.
I have been very busy lately. I have been burning, planting food plots and generally getting ready for next bird season. The Department of Forestry assisted me this year with all the burning. I will never burn again without them. If you ever plan on burning off property for game management I highly recommend that you contact you local Forestry Department and let them help you plan you burn.
I always teach whoa sequentially with other commands. Dogs learn better and faster this way. I found that training, sequentialy is less stressful on the dog.
